Oh, So Many Updates!

Hey Everybody Out There!

I know it’s been a really long time since I updated my site but I’ve been working night and day to try to finish Volume 02 of the book. It’s getting very close to being done! I’ll keep everyone posted.

So, hopefully, all of you checked out the animated series which premiered Saturday, March 15th at 10:30am on the CW (or the “network formerly known as ‘The Kid’s WB”:) Check it out on their site if you haven’t had the chance:

The World of Quest:Warner Brothers

Also, “The World of Quest: Volume 01″ has made it’s way into the major book chains. I’ve seen it at both Border’s and Barnes and Noble in their Children’s sections:

The World of Quest at Borders

The World of Quest at Barnes and Noble

Also, there have been a couple of really cool articles written by my childhood home newspapers in Jersey:

Asbury Park Press

The Transcript

Well, that’s pretty much it for now. Gotta get back to work. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post some new images from Book 2 on the site when my publishers let me.

Until then, best wishes everyone!

“The World of Quest” Sells Out at San Diego!

Well, it’s been awhile since I updated the site but life’s been pretty hectic. Anyway, I brought a case of 50 books to the San Diego Comicon two weeks ago and was sold out by midday Saturday!

Outside of the exhaustion, it was a great time and it was even better seeing all my old friends. I got a great reaction to both the book and the upcoming tv show so I wanted to say thanks to everyone for their support thus far.

Incidentally, I did an interview for ABC San Diego so if anyone has seen it and can tell me where to get a copy of it, please let me know.

More updates to come!

Big news everybody! I’m so psyched! Thanks to KOMIKWERKS and Shannon Eric Denton for getting this deal set up!

YEN PRESS AND KIDS’ WB! TO LAUNCH NEW SERIES THIS FALL

Jason T. Kruse?s World of Quest Hits Bookshelves and Television Screens

NEW YORK, NY (June 4, 2007) ? Among its many efforts to publish across a wide spectrum of the graphic novel market, newly-established imprint Yen Press has announced the fall launch of The World of Quest (ages 9 up; 144 pg; $9.99). Scheduled for publication this November, the graphic novel series will also premiere as an animated series this fall on the Kids WB! block of The CW ? the No.1 rated Saturday morning kids’ broadcast.

What started in 1995 by Jason T. Kruse as a weekly comic strip in his Ohio University student newspaper, ?The Post?, is now a double-threat to graphic novels and Saturday morning cartoons alike, once school is back in session. The adventures of a spoiled young prince who teams up with the planet?s greatest warrior to battle evil and save the world, is sure to be the perfect combination of action and comedy for the 9 and up set. And now, after the show is over, kids can continue the reading adventures of Prince Nestor and Quest in the land of Odyssia whenever they want.

To date, Kids? WB! has six of the top 10 rated shows among broadcast networks on Saturday mornings. The World of Quest is scheduled to air along with three other new adventure shows (Eon Kid, Magi-Nation and Will & Dewitt) and previous shows that have been picked up for another season (Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!, Tom and Jerry Tales, Legion of Super Heroes, The Batman).

Jason T. Kruse is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts. He has worked on such films as ?Stuart Little?, ?Cats and Dogs?, and ?The Barnyard? and has also worked on creating animations and storyboards for the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. Kruse currently works at Helixe Studio in Boston as an animator, and continues his consulting work on the animated series The World of Quest.

Yen Press is an imprint of Hachette Book Group USA dedicated to graphic novels for adults and young readers. Yen Press? focus is primarily on licensed manga, but will also publish across the wide spectrum of the graphic novel market, including, but not limited to: original manga publications, original American comics/graphic novels, webcomics, licensed adaptations, and children’s graphic novels.

Praise for WORLD OF QUEST!

“If you were looking for a book to satisfy the action loving, booger joke laughing, magic/mystery fan in your family ?have you come to the right place!

I found the book creative and original.”

-COMICS IN THE CLASSROOM: Scott Tingley

“The characters and creatures are unusual, the hero is somewhat less than heroic, and the story is presented with tongue planted firmly in cheek. There is a distinct sense of childlike whimsy to this comic, a playful feeling that anything goes as the creator’s imagination practically bleeds onto the page.

The World of Quest remains a fun, whimsical, and entertaining graphic novel.”

-BROKEN FRONTIER: Eric Lindberg

“SO CUTE AND SO GOOD

The book is a colorful, funny, and cute breath of fresh air.

Kruse sets a fast pace, filling the book with characters who interact very well with each other to maximum comedic results. It’s an utterly charming book that grabs you from the start and doesn’t let go. Even the chapters marked as “Interludes” are a lot of fun.”

-COMIC BOOK RESOURCES–Augie De Blick

“What a read! I haven’t been this intrigued and entertained by a fantasy comic since I read the first TP for Bone. I fell in love with that book, and now find myself falling all over again for the World of Quest.

Jason’s illustrations match wonderfully with his dialogue and world. Toony maybe, but also expressive, entertaining, and well played.

Jason’s humor with his dialogue is one of the high points in the series. He details motivation and emotion all while cracking wise at some of the silliness of the characters.

I loved this book. Priced right ? I would pick it up in a heart beat.”

Quotes from some pros:

“I’m Scott Lobdell and I support this book!”–Two time Wizard Award? winning writer Scott Lobdell?

“‘Conan the Barbarian’ by way of ‘Calvin and Hobbes’. Doesn’t sound like it should work, does it? It does. Wonderfully. Do the comicbook market a favor and support this book.” — Keith Giffen, Eisner-Award Winning writer and artist

“Fun, imaginative, and frequently twisted, ‘The World of Quest’ smacks the traditional hero genre firmly in the jaw. Enjoy!” — Tom Pugsley, writer and editor for Teen Titans, The Batman and Ben 10

“Quest Rocks! Fantastic Adventure. Beautiful artwork and writing! A must-read!” — Tommy Castillo, artist on Detective Comics, Green Arrow and Evil Ernie

KIDS’ WB! ON THE CW ADDS NEW ANIMATED
ACTION-ADVENTURE SERIES TO 2007-2008 LINEUP

Top-Rated Saturday Morning Kids Broadcast Network Bolsters Slate With “Eon Kid,” “Magi-Nation,” “World of Quest” and “Will & Dewitt”
to Complement New Spider-Man Series & Returning Warner Bros. Favorites

BURBANK, CA (MARCH 29, 2007) ? Kids’ WB! on The CW, the No.1 rated Saturday morning kids broadcast slate, will add five new animated series to its 2007-2008 lineup, it was announced today by Kids’ WB! Senior Vice President and General Manager Betsy McGowen.

Adventure and comedy make perfect partners when a spoiled young prince is unevenly paired with a square-jawed hero to defeat evil and restore order to their kingdom in “World of Quest.” When his parents are kidnapped by the nefarious Lord Spite, pampered Prince Nestor enlists the assistance of Quest, the planet’s greatest warrior. Quest is the only hero with enough strength, skill and courage to wield the Shatter Soul Sword, which is the only weapon that can defeat Lord Spite. However, the Sword is missing ? and the prince, warrior and villain are all on a desperate mission to find it. Based on the Komikwerks graphic novel series by Jason Kruse, “World of Quest” is produced by Cookie Jar Entertainment and premieres within the Kids’ WB! lineup in Fall 2007.
